FVB has compiled a cooling report for Jönköping Energi. The energy company needs to replace its cooling machines connected to the district cooling network. This is because the old cooling machines have had static water in them.

“The report included proposals for how the risk of new frozen pipe damage could be avoided, which type of machines are best suited to eco-friendly coolants according to the wishes of the developer,” says Elsa Forsgren of FVB, who was responsible for the report.The cooling machines will stand outdoors, which requires a different type of system from what would be appropriate if they were indoors. It means that certain parts will have to contain anti-freeze and the water-borne parts will be kept in an insulated, heated container. The water-borne parts of the district cooling network are connected to the cooling machine steam system via heat exchangers to produce district cooling. This circuit contains anti-freeze to enable it to stand outdoors all year round.The report has been handed to Jönköping Energi, whose district cooling mainly consists of free cooling taken from Lake Vättern.
